Syncing BusyCal for iOS with a Mac

BusyCal iOS supports syncing with all the different types of cloud accounts just as its macOS counterpart, BusyCal for macOS.

In order to keep BusyCal iOS in-sync with BusyCal macOS, all you need to do is add the same cloud accounts on both devices. Normally you would begin by adding your iCloud account to both BusyCal iOS and BusyCal macOS, and from there on both apps will sync via iCloud automatically in the background.

tip

Ensure you have added the same accounts to all your devices for automatic, background sync between devices.

When you launch BusyCal iOS for the first time, after the initial welcome screen, the accounts screen will automatically display all the accounts you previously added on another device (such as your Mac). This happens seamlessly via iCloud — no manual setup required. Simply select the account and tap Use Account to activate it. You do this at any time later as well by opening BusyCal iOS Settings > Accounts where it will list you all your accounts.

🔒 Your credentials are never stored in the cloud or synced automatically. For security reasons, you must re-enter your login details when prompted the first time BusyCal attempts to sync.

If you do not see an account listed automatically, you can add your account manually instead. See the following articles for each type of account BusyCal supports.

note

BusyCal macOS supports direct syncing over LAN / Wifi with other copies of BusyCal running on the mac. This is not supported between iOS and macOS. Instead you must sync via one of your cloud accounts, such as iCloud or Google.
