I see "Installation Failed" error when running the installer

When you run the downloaded installer package (.pkg file) for BusyCal or BusyContact and see an error such as "Installation Failed", this is primarily because you've downloaded to a non-standard location on disk, where macOS cannot run security verification checks on the package.

To fix this:

  1. Move the downloaded file (.pkg) to your Desktop or any other folder under your home directory; more specifically, ensure that this folder is not inside of cloud service folder such as Google Drive / Dropbox / OneDrive etc

  2. Right click on the file (option+click) and select "Open..."
