Google Calendar showing Birthdays in main calendar

This appears to be a bug in Google Calendar that they introduced recently, causing birthdays to erroneously show up in 3rd party apps but not within Google Calendar.

There is no workaround at the moment other than to contact Google Custom Care and complain about this. This is not a BusyCal bug.

We have reported this as a bug to Google but have not received an acknowledgment.
