You must empty the trash after deleting the app, otherwise macOS will not allow you to stop the background process as explained in the next step.

3️⃣ Stop Background Processes

Even after deletion, BusyCal's menu app may still be running in the background. This needs to be stopped manually as it is managed by macOS. Ensure you have emptied the trash and BusyCal.app is no longer in Applications.

  1. Open Activity Monitor.app (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor).
  2. Search for BusyCal in the search bar.
  3. Select any BusyCal process that appears.
  4. Click the (✖) button in the toolbar to quit the process.

If the menu app persists, check for and remove any additional copies of BusyCal on disk (e.g., in Downloads or other folders).
macOS may attempt to launch the menu app again if an old copy still exists.
